We are currently seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join our team. of professionals calling on the local market in Salem, Portland, and surrounding areas.

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for the overall relationship and management of day-to-day sales activities towards cabinet and furniture manufacturers, fabricators, and millwork shops in his/her territory. You will successfully manage the sales of Richelieu product solutions through structured consultative sales discussions, ultimately serving as a business advisor towards your customers. By positioning yourself as an indispensable resource, you will enable your customers to solve problems and increase business results. In turn, you will be building a thriving business of your own.

 

  • Schedule and hold face-to-face meetings with new and existing customers, learning about their business and how Richelieu product solutions can enhance their results
  • Maintain accountability for the growth of your territory, both through new customer acquisition as well as the development of existing relationships
  • Identify and analyze past buying patterns of current accounts, and brainstorm ways to become their stronger, more inclusive supplier
  • Provide a state of the art customer service experience, positioning yourself as their desired one-stop shop
  • Educate yourself on, and continuously stay up to date with, Richelieu's product offerings as well as ever-changing market conditions and competitive analysis
  • Consistently utilize our CRM (customer relationship management program/database) for call planning and recording summaries of sales calls and customer details
  • Spend at least 3-4 business days "in the field", making visits and in-person calls to our customer market in that area

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in sales, optimally outside sales within the building materials or construction industries
  • Eager to learn, with a passion for providing solutions to customers and a drive to achieve successful sales growth
  • An excellent communicator (both in writing and speaking) who is curious, engaging, and proactive
  • Knowledge or experience within these areas is preferred: building materials, bathroom or kitchen cabinetry, closets, millwork, etc.
  • Highly motivated, able to self-direct and manage your own time and responsibilities, organize and plan your work efficiently
  • Able to learn and proficiently use our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) program to track daily activity, plan and optimize sales calls, and follow up with customers' requests or needs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; must be able to effectively use Excel, Word, Outlook for daily responsibilities and tasks
  • This position may occasionally involve lifting/pushing/carrying items up to 50 pounds
